At Buckshot Acres, every bar of soap is made with intention, transparency, and respect for the craft. We offer three distinct styles of soap, each with its own purpose, process, and personality. Here's what they mean

Cold Process Soap

What it is: Traditional soapmaking method where oils and lye are mixed and poured into molds, then cured for 4–6 weeks.

Why we use it:

Preserves delicate ingredients like essential oils and botanicals
Allows for intricate designs and swirls
Creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a creamy lather

Customer note: These bars take time to cure, but the result is worth the wait.. gentle, beautiful, and full of character.

Hot Process Soap

What it is: A faster method where the soap is "cooked" to complete saponification before it's molded.

Why we use it:

Ready to use immediately after cooling
Rustic texture with a handmade look
Ideal for small-batch, fast-turnaround production

Customer note: Same ingredients, same scent, just ready faster. These bars may look more rugged, but they’re every bit as nourishing.

Rebatch Soap (Zero-Waste Bars)

What it is: Made by melting down clean end pieces and trimmings to create new soap.
Why we use it:
Reduces waste and honors every ounce of our ingredients
Allows us to unify scraps into a single, usable bar
Keeps our production sustainable and honest

* Customer note: These bars are clean bar scraps never used on a person or put into water in any way. These are just cut pieces and stored safely until there is enough from the original soap batches they come from. Other than the scent being slightly different in a rebatch because of previous scents, the bars are the same. The only difference is the esthetics of them because of the way they were created. The ingredients remain the same and the overall skin cleansing and care from them is the same. We don’t always offer rebatch or hot process, so if you order a scent in hot process one time and the next time want that same scent but we only have cold process, that is what you will get. Same bar, different look.
