Wait List

Buckshot Acres maintains a no‑charge wait list for those interested in future kiddings. Refer to the Breeding Lineup page for current doe and buck pairings and their anticipated kidding dates (calculated at approximately 145 days from breeding).

To be added to the wait list, please contact us through the Contact page. If you are interested in a specific pairing or are seeking particular traits, please include that information when submitting your request.

Buckshot Acres reserves the right to retain any kids born on the farm. We also reserve the right to decline a sale if we feel a goat or kid would not be a good fit for the prospective home.

Please note: 
Being placed on the wait list is not a reservation. It is simply an expression of interest and ensures you will be notified when a kidding occurs. Once kids are born, all individuals on the wait list will be notified and directed to the Sales page to view available kids.

Reservations are accepted on a first‑come, first‑served basis and require a non‑refundable deposit to hold a kid (see Reservations and Pricing sections).

Kid Pickup

Kids are available for pickup once weaned, typically between 8–12 weeks of age. They will be disbudded and tattooed unless otherwise arranged. If a buyer requests a kid not be disbudded, full payment is required before the kid reaches 5 days old.

Hooves will be trimmed prior to pickup.

A mutually acceptable pickup date will be coordinated once the kid is weaned and ready to leave. If the buyer needs to change the original pickup date, a modified date must be agreed upon within 7 days of the original date. Any modified date cannot exceed 30 days from the original pickup date.

If the buyer does not coordinate a new date within the 7‑day window, the reservation and deposit are forfeited.

If the new pickup date falls after the 7‑day window, an $8 per day boarding fee will apply beginning on day 8. This fee is non‑refundable and must be paid immediately upon agreeing to the new date. No modified pickup date may extend beyond 30 days from the original date.

If no agreement can be reached within the 30‑day timeframe, the buyer forfeits all monies paid, and the kid will be retained or made available to new buyers.

On pickup day, buyers are expected to communicate their ETA and provide updates regarding delays. Buckshot Acres will make reasonable efforts to accommodate travel issues. However, a no‑call, no‑show results in immediate forfeiture of the reserved goat(s) and all payments made. We will wait no more than two hours past the scheduled pickup time.

The remaining balance is due before or on the day of pickup.

For buyers requesting a wethered buckling, full payment is required one week prior to the castration date. This payment is non‑refundable.

Health

All goats and kids at Buckshot Acres are well cared for. Buyers may choose to have a goat or kid examined by a licensed veterinarian on our premises, at the buyer’s expense. If this is desired, an appointment must be coordinated in advance.

If the veterinarian determines that the goat or kid is unsound due to a medical issue identified during the exam, deposits will be refunded should the buyer choose not to proceed with the purchase.

Once a goat or kid leaves Buckshot Acres, we are no longer responsible for its health or welfare, as we cannot control the environment, care, or management practices of the new home.

Recommendations for New Goat Owners

For those new to goat ownership, many resources are available to help you learn proper care and management. Numerous online communities, including Facebook groups dedicated to Nigerian Dwarf goats, offer valuable support and information.

Upon request, Buckshot Acres can provide a list of recommended resources. We strongly encourage new owners to educate themselves thoroughly before bringing home goats, as this preparation will support long‑term success and animal wellbeing.

We also highly recommend establishing a relationship with a veterinarian experienced in goat care.
