ADGA Name: HAZEL-ROD AMBER BUTTERSCOTCH
Registration: PD1956513
Dob: 4/22/2018
Color: Buckskin with very minimal white on her face and blue eyes
Dam: HAZEL-ROD COCONUT CREAM
Sire: AGS MOON SPINNER'S BLUE SHIN

Temperment:
Amber is a sassy, opinionated doe with a personality big enough to run the whole barn, and she does. She’s the undisputed herd queen, enforcing her status with confidence, presence, and the occasional well‑aimed headbutt directed only at other goats, never at people. She knows how to keep order, and she doesn’t hesitate to remind the herd where they stand.
Her protective instincts are unmatched. When she had babies on the ground, she once stood her ground against our German Shepherd puppy (Note the puppy was sniffing) and made her point so clearly that the dog has never stepped foot in the goat pens again. Amber is one heck of a mom, and she takes her role seriously.
Despite her boldness with the herd, she’s incredibly sweet with her people. She’s calm, steady, and well‑mannered on the milk stand, and she genuinely enjoys human interaction. She has a softness she saves for her trusted circle, offering affection and cooperation without hesitation.
Her strong personality reliably shows up in her offspring - confident, pushy within the herd, but deeply people‑oriented. For breeders who appreciate a doe with presence, leadership, maternal strength, and a bit of spice, Amber’s temperament is a feature, not a flaw.
Conformation:
Amber is a mature, seasoned doe, one of the oldest in the herd, born in 2018 - and she carries the kind of quiet reliability that only comes with time. Her head is one of her strongest features: a clean, refined muzzle, balanced facial proportions, and a correct, true‑to‑breed expression that she consistently passes on to her descendants.
Her body is functional and serviceable, though not without imperfections. She carries a slight dip behind the withers and isn’t as level over the topline as some of the more competitive does. Even so, she maintains good width through her chest and hindquarters, stands squarely, and moves with the steady confidence of a doe who has held up well over multiple years and lactations.
Her udder remains one of her most valuable assets. It is well‑attached and symmetrical, supported by a strong medial and maintaining shape and softness at various fill levels. The consistency of her mammary traits is evident in her daughters and granddaughters, who inherit her attachments, teat placement, and overall udder reliability.
Amber may not be the most structurally perfect doe in the barn, but she brings meaningful strengths to the table — correctness of head, dependable udder structure, and a proven ability to produce quality offspring. Her value shows up not just in her own frame, but in the generations she has influenced.
